Beyond the Spotlight w/ Rebecca Alfano

Heritage High School Senior Rebecca Alfano is geared up and ready to begin her senior year in the SVL! With volleyball season beginning and hockey coming up on the horizon, the young lady is poised and ready for whatever comes her way!

What sport(s) and position(s) do you play and how many years have you been on the Varsity team?

Volleyball (2 Years), Soccer (2 Years) & hockey (Not a school sport)

List any academic or athletic achievements you have earned during high school career (i.e. honor roll, all-conference, student council, all-state, etc.)

Honor roll, 4.0 GPA

What do you enjoy most about competing in high school sports?

Team bonding and the competitiveness

What is your best memory from HS sports so far, and why is it meaningful to you?

Winning multiple tournaments and the experience of bonding with my teammates

What are you looking forward to most this upcoming season?

Having an extremely close and skilled team that can do big things this season

What’s your go to pre-game/contest meal? Where do you get it from?

Subway sandwich with chocolate milk

Who is your team’s biggest rival? What makes that rivalry special or different from the other teams you’ll face this season?

Midland Dow has always been our biggest rival and it’s due to the fact that we are both extremely talented teams. It’s always a great competition.

What is one personal and one team goal that you have for this upcoming season?

Personal- excel as a front row hitter this season; Team- continue to have each other’s backs and constantly push to make each other better

If you could go back in time and give yourself one piece of advice as a Freshman, what you would it be?

I would tell myself to do more and push yourself harder to be a better athlete.
